My IMC senior seminar class was unlike any other course I had taken at Winthrop University. Rather than merely doing work for a grade from our professor, my class was given a real client, with a real timeline, and yes, a real budget. Our class was divided into teams to evaluate, strategize, and curate a plan for the Eagle Club. The Eagle Club is a unsubsidized branch of Winthrop University's athletic department that strives to fund the athletic department's operational and educational cost, which includes athletic scholarships, team travel, uniforms, equipment, and other incurred costs. To meet this goal, the Eagle Club relies solely on the generosity of their donors. Unfortunately, the Eagle Club's lack of presence on campus and within the community was resulting in minimal income; our task was to correct this through a rebranding campaign.
For the duration of the semester, I served as the content and layout specialist for my team. This role led to a depth of marketing research, data collection, formal reports, branding, and copyrighting. More than anything, I think this assignment tested my ability to work well with a team and understand that different individuals work at different levels and paces. Below is the final campaign booklet and presentation. |
